[Food Review] Ladybird Fried Chicken - a casual American-style Fried Chicken eatery that opens until 11 PM (Thur - Mon)

If you're roaming around Amsterdam searching for a late-night snack, you'll quickly realize that Amsterdam is not LA nor Hong Kong. You won't be able to end your night with a visit to BCD Tofu House or Sun Hing for dim sum. However, if you consider 10 PM a late-night option, then the story changes a bit. There are few things in the world more satisfying than indulging in some fried chicken, especially late at night. For southern American-style fried chicken, we already have Biscuit Baby on Overtoom, straight out of North Carolina. For De Pijp, we have Ladybird, which claims to offer " a New York approach to the Southern kitchen. " Nestled away in De Pijp, Ladybird Fried Chicken can get pretty crowded, with people lining up outside the eatery. [Food Review] Domenica, a creative Italian at Joordan, possibly one of the best pasta places in the city. Great pasta, but slow service.

When I asked my Italian colleagues about the best Italian restaurants in Amsterdam, they mentioned Friscetteria and Bussia among others, but they unanimously praised Domenica for their pasta dishes. On a sunny Sunday, I visited Domenica with a friend and his acquaintance to sample their cuisine.  The restaurant offers a four-course tasting menu, known as the Domenica Chef's menu, which is only available per table. We decided to opt for this menu. The meal began with the restaurant's signature focaccia, which was served with a generous amount of olive oil. However, while it was enjoyable, it didn't quite live up to the standard of the focaccia at  Focacceria . A welcome dish of eel was also served, which was not listed on the menu.
